The cuisine of the region is informed by the fishing and the vegetable and fruit production. In particular you have to emphasize the starters and the fish dishes. They are tastefully seasoned following the central-southern cuisine of Italy.
Traditional dishes:
“Brodetto”: spicy and solid fish soup like it was cooked once on the fishing boats, with tomatoes, vinegar and black pepper. “Grigliate di pesce”: mixed fish-grill, breaded with crust soaked in olive oil and spiced with parsley. “Piccione farcito”: stuffed dove pot roast. “Ciambelle”: Italian doughnuts. “Castagnole”: fried dessert of chestnuts.
Highly recommended is the local wine: “DOC Colli di Rimini”. The white wine is pressed of the grape Trebiano and the red wine of the grapes Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Besides wine here were also produced extra virgin olive oil and cheese. Because of these outstanding products arose the project “Street of wine and pleasant taste of the hills of Rimini”.
